Please complete the online form below to apply for admission to the Bar of this Court (or to register to practice as a federal government attorney without paying the admission fee). You will need to upload a scanned version of the signed application (G-60) to submit with the form. If you have already submitted your application, you will be able to check the status of your submission by clicking here.

If you are an appointed CJA attorney, please enter the case number for which your appointment was granted on the G-60.

Read First
  1. Check here to see if you are already admitted to the Central District of California.
  2. Download the instructions and Application for Admission to the Bar of the Central District of California by clicking here.
  3. Fill out the application. Once completed, sign and date the application and the Oath of Attorney.
  4. Scan the application to a single file in Portable Document Format (PDF).
  5. Proceed to Step 1.
Step 1
  • Are you a federal government attorney or an appointed CJA attorney?
  • Do you want to pay the fee required for admission to the Bar of the Central District of California?   (Attorneys who are employees of federal government agencies, as well as appointed CJA attorneys, may practice in the Central District without being admitted to the Bar of the Court, and therefore without paying the fee required for admission to that Bar. To do so, choose “No” below and click “Continue. Please note, however, that federal government attorneys and appointed CJA attorneys who practice without being admitted to this Court’s Bar will be required to apply for admission and pay the fee if they later intend to continue practicing in the Central District outside of those exempt roles. If you wish to become a member of the Court’s Bar at this time, rather than simply practicing here under the exception for government attorneys, you may choose to pay the fee.)
